Sleep apnoea

Sleep apnoea

Apnoea is a temporary and involuntary interruption of the breath occurring while sleeping that stops the oxygen from correctly arriving to the lungs due to a relaxation of the throat muscles.

This condition causes a bad night’s rest, giving rise to fatigue and lack of energy throughout the day.

Apnoea is linked to age, overweight and certain physical constitutions. There is an increased incidence in men.
