Non-reabsorbed mammals in Implantology. Current reason for their use and indications.
Revista "Periodoncia y Osteointegration." Volume 15. No. Year: 2005
Summary: Bone availability is a quite common problem with Implantology. To solve this problem, bone regeneration with membranes has been used for the last 20 years. The use of non-reabsorbable membranes has been shown to be a very important therapeutic option, however, the need for second surgery for the removal of the membrane and fixation materials, coupled with the highest frequency of complications, have resulted in a decline in the use and indications of this type of membranes, in favor of reabsorbable membranes. Since their use is less and less, we propose a rational basis for using and currently indicating non-reabsorptable membranes.
