Implants and smile restoration
An implant replaces a missing tooth root and supports a crown, bridge or denture. We assess your gums, bone, bite, health history and alternatives before recommending treatment. Planning for front teeth also considers the gum contour and neighbouring teeth.

Immediate implants and immediate loading
Placing an implant after an extraction and fitting a temporary restoration on an implant are separate decisions. They may be possible in selected cases, depending on available bone, implant stability, local infection and the planned restoration. Neither approach removes the need for healing or guarantees a final restoration in one day.

Guided surgery and flapless placement
Imaging and digital planning can help select the implant position. In suitable conditions, an implant may be placed without raising a wide gum flap. This remains a surgical procedure requiring anaesthesia, healing and follow-up. It is not suitable for every patient.

Bone regeneration and sinus augmentation
When bone support is limited, we assess whether grafting or regeneration could support rehabilitation. In the upper jaw, the position of the sinus may make sinus augmentation necessary. We explain the procedure, risks and healing time for the particular site; it may need to be completed before implant placement.

Recovery, risks and maintenance
Discomfort, swelling, infection or failure to integrate can occur. Other risks depend on the treatment site and are discussed during assessment. Oral hygiene, smoking control and reviews are part of long-term care. The restoration and its components may also need adjustments or repairs over time.

- What does the assessment involve?
- The assessment considers your mouth, medical history, bite and the area to be restored. Imaging is chosen according to the information needed to plan your case.
- What if I have limited bone?
- Not every case needs a graft. We assess whether available bone supports treatment, whether regeneration is appropriate, or whether another option suits you better. This affects the stages and estimate.
- How long does treatment take?
- Timing depends on the starting condition and healing. Temporary and final restorations serve different purposes. Before treatment, we explain the planned stages and what may change the schedule.
- What should I compare in an estimate?
- Check whether it includes investigations, surgery, prosthetic components, the crown or restoration, and reviews. The indication, alternatives, risks and maintenance matter alongside the total price.

Frequently asked questions
Implant or conventional bridge?
It depends on neighbouring teeth, available bone and the restoration needed. An implant may avoid preparing healthy adjacent teeth, but requires surgery and maintenance. We assess both alternatives.
What affects the treatment outcome?
Bone quantity and quality, gum health, smoking, medical history, restoration planning and maintenance all matter. Assessment allows us to explain individual risks.
Is implant placement painful?
Anaesthesia is used to control pain during the procedure. Discomfort and swelling may follow. Aftercare and medication are tailored to the procedure and your health history.
Do implants last a lifetime?
Implants may function for many years, but a lifetime outcome cannot be guaranteed. Biological or mechanical problems may occur. Any warranty conditions should be explained in writing and do not replace maintenance.
Which restorations can implants support?
Implants may support crowns, bridges or removable dentures. The choice depends on missing teeth, implant distribution, cleaning access and the rehabilitation plan.
Can implants and teeth be fitted on the same day?
In selected cases, a temporary restoration may be fitted on the same day. Adequate stability and suitable conditions are required. Healing continues, and the final restoration is planned according to progress.
What is osseointegration?
It is the process that establishes a stable connection between living bone and the implant surface. It requires time and suitable biological conditions; not every implant integrates successfully.
What if I have limited bone?
We assess the site, restoration alternatives and whether bone regeneration or sinus augmentation is appropriate. Not everyone needs grafting or is suitable for the same techniques.
What does the procedure involve?
The extent depends on the number of implants and whether additional procedures are needed. Local anaesthesia is commonly used. Additional pain or anxiety management is assessed individually.
How is my implant treatment priced?
It depends on the teeth being replaced, the planned restoration and any preparatory treatment. After assessment we explain the stages and what each cost includes.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring recent reports or X-rays if available and a medication list. Previous treatment details and your goals for chewing and smiling are also helpful.
How is implant maintenance organised?
Follow-up is tailored to your situation. We assess the restoration, surrounding tissues and cleaning and advise when to return.
