Orthodontics apparatus can be classified into Fixed and Removable apparatus Removable they can be removed to eat and wash their teeth. They are mainly used in children to intercept problems during denture rash or development of the maxilla and jaw bones. They are usually a first phase of treatment that can avoid or minimize problems with regular denture biting. The patient's collaboration with them is crucial for success of treatment. The more hours you have been put up, the faster and more clear will be the correction. They require a minimum of hours of use, that's to say, they have to wear them all night and about 4-6 hours throughout the day.
They are custom made in a lab and depending on their design they can have different functions. Some of the most common are:
- Expand of the maxillary (palate). When palate is narrow (for example with oral breathing where the tongue remains low and does not contribute to the normal cross-sectional development of the roof of the mouth) a cross-biting (upper teeth bite from inside bottom).
Example of a lateral cross-bite. The upper part should cover out to the lower.
- To remedy harmful habits, such as linguistic interposition.
A linguistic fence can avoid interponing the tongue between your teeth by rectifying a Open death
- Reg bone defects how discrepancies in the size or place of the bones, maxilla and mandible, using the growth.
There are different apparatus that can influence the quantity and direction of growth of mandibula and maxilar. For treatment to be successful, it's important to start at an early age (especially with high-level growth deficit) or with a high level of growth (especially with mandibular deficit)
How much can an orthodontics treatment with difficult removable equipment afford? Reportable orthodontics typically costs between EUR 500 and EUR 1,500 as a rule. A first phase of treatment with a removable device can avoid the need for or reduce their treatment time.
How old can a child be using teeth? Treatment with removable equipment can be initiated about 7 years old. In children under 6 years of age who require some type of device, it's best to use regular equipment that doesn't require patient collaboration.
What care should a child have that already uses an apparatus? A treatment of orthodontics with removable equipment gives us a good opportunity to teach and motivate the child to brush his or her teeth. Children at these ages tend to face treatment with a very positive attitude and it's a good way to get them aware of the importance of good hygiene. The teeth should be washed before the device is put after each meal and parents should monitor that they do so properly. The device should be kept clear with water and neutral soap.
