Background and details
Some women with osteoporosis have bisphosphonates, currently the most common treatment for the prevention of osteoporotic fractures. Several studies have confirmed that these drugs with an extraction or dental surgery have been induced by osteonecrosis of the matilares (especially in women with oncological disease or with immunosuppression).
Osteonecrosis is a disease as a result of temporary or permanent loss of blood entry into the maxillary bone. That's why it's extremely important that if you're undergoing biphosphates treatment you let your dentist know before any intervention.
